In continuing our support for organizations in our community, UNICON supported the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative.  Go Red For Women is focused on educating women about the danger of heart disease, and how they can reduce the impact of heart disease in their lives.  As part of this initiative, UNICON joined other organizations to raise awareness and funds to help promote this worthwhile cause.

UNICON successfully achieved Gold Certified Partner status with Microsoft.  Gold Certified Partners represent the highest level of competence and expertise with Microsoft technologies, and have the closest working relationship with Microsoft.

Over the past year, UNICON has successfully demonstrated competencies in the following Microsoft categories:

• Security Solutions – The Security Solutions Competency is for technology partners who have proven their proficiency in implementing security solutions in Microsoft environments, including security policy management, governance, compliance and operations.
• Networking Infrastructure Solution s– The Networking Infrastructure Solutions Competency is for technology partners who have proven their proficiency in implementing solutions based on Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
• Custom Development Solutions (in progress) – The Custom Development Solutions competency is designed for partners who provide unique customer solutions through software development, application quality assurance (testing) and application architecture using Microsoft products.

Business First of Columbus recently released their ranking of top minority-owned businesses, and UNICON was ranked as the top minority-owned IT services firm in Central Ohio.  As a certified minority-business enterprise and women’s-business enterprise, UNICON recognizes and embraces diversity in the workplace.  Efforts in this area continue to promote a collaborative, diverse workforce which provides opportunities for all people, while leveraging their combined expertise to help meet overall business objectives.

UNICON was recently recognized as one of the top IT service suppliers to a large, healthcare manufacturer and distributer.  This recognition was due to UNICON’s ability to provide qualified consultants in a timely manner to help our client meet their overall business objectives.  Theses consultants encompassed a wide range of skill sets, including program/project managers, system integrators, developers, and help desk technicians.  UNICON was able achieve this recognition despite being one of their newest vendors, highlighting UNICON’s ability to listen to our client's challenges, and to successfully partner with them to overcome these challenges.
