Grant Project Management System Attracts Interest at National Conference |
| Richard Johnston, a Sr. Program Manager at UNICON, presented a paper on the Sub-grantee Performance Evaluation System (SPES) at the 23rd DHPE/CDC National Conference on Health Promotion & Education at the Crossroads: New Public Health Directions, which has held on May 25-27, 2005 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. SPES is a web-based grant performance management system. The presentation generated considerable interest among the local, county, state and federal health promotion and education professionals in attendance, due to its powerful data integration and project management features, flexible design, and intuitive user interface. Richard led the UNICON project team in the requirements, architecture and development of SPES. This system provides a level of real-time accountability, project management and quality control that was never before available. This .NET based system uses leading edge user interface design to provide one secure, consistent user interface that supports a wide variety of grant-related projects. The Ohio Department of Health is preparing to utilize SPES to manage the performance of many grant-based projects throughout the state of Ohio. In addition, other organizations outside of the public health arena have expressed interest in utilizing SPES to manage a wide variety of projects, including both grant and non-grant related projects.
