Careers How We Are Different
How We Are Different

Benefits

UNICON is dedicated to employee satisfaction and well-being and offers flexibility in our benefits offerings as a result. Some employees take advantage of the full range of UNICON’S benefits while others prefer to have minimum coverage resulting in greater take-home compensation. Whichever your personal goal is, we have a benefits level for you.

Medical and Dental Insurance

UNICON offers employees a choice of major medical plans including a PPO and a High-Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA). This choice further allows employees flexibility to determine in what way their health insurance dollars will be spent. UNICON pays a substantial amount of the employee’s premium; however, employees with health insurance make some contribution for coverage. UNICON also contributes monthly to employees’ HSA’s. Our dental insurance plan covers 100% of preventative services, 80% of restorative services, and 50% of major dental work performed by a dentist in the PPO network.

Additionally, a Flexible Spending Account is offered for Dependent Care expenses.

Group Life Insurance

UNICON provides $15,000 of life insurance coverage for all active US employees working at least 30 hours per week. In addition, employees may purchase additional supplemental life insurance for themselves and their dependents.

Short Term and Long Term Disability

UNICON provides long-term disability insurance to all active US employees working at least 30 hours per week. This insurance allows for the payment of $1,000 per month to disabled employees after 26 weeks off the job due to a non-work related serious illness or injury.  In addition, employees may purchase additional LTD coverage up to a payment of $6000 per month to meet their needs. Employees may purchase short-term disability coverage for a nominal fee.

401(k) Plan

Employees are eligible to begin participation on the first of the month following their start date. UNICON matches $.40 for every $1.00 the employee contributes up to the first 5% of the employee's deferral with vesting beginning after 2 years of service and the employee becoming 100% vested after 5 years of service.

Paid Time Off

Paid days off including vacation days, sick/personal days, and floating holidays are earned for every 1,000 hours of completed services. Employees earn 5 vacation days, 2 sick/personal days and 1 floating holiday at each 1,000-hour interval. A maximum number of 20 (twenty) vacation days only are allowed to carry over to the next accrual period. Once earned, vacation days only may be cashed out at any time by the employee.

UNICON recognizes seven major fixed holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday following Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Professional Development

UNICON understands our employees are in constant need of training on new technologies in this very dynamic IT industry. With this in mind, UNICON provides $1000 of educational assistance funds each 1000 service hours an employee completes.

Degree Programs

Tuition Reimbursement is grade based for credit eligible courses in job-related degree programs. Costs for course books are reimbursed at 50%.

Training and Certification

The cost of voluntary job-related training and certification preparation courses is reimbursed at 75%. Additionally, the cost of certification exams is reimbursed at 75% for a passing score. Additional training may be provided by UNICON and/or requested by the client at no cost to the employee.

Membership Dues

Dues to professional and technical organizations are reimbursed at 50%.

Parking Reimbursement

For employees who work downtown, UNICON offers $60 per month in parking reimbursement.

Referral Bonus Program

UNICON pays up to $1000 to recognize and reward eligible employees with demonstrated efforts and direct contribution to the continued profitable growth of the company. Bonuses are paid for both billable job candidate referrals and customer business development assistance.
