1. UNICON proudly sponsored the Humanitarian of the Year conference for 2020!

UNICON attended the Humanitarian of the Year conference held annually
by the Red Cross. The Humanitarian of the Year event honors local individuals who have great humanitarian concern for our community and who have made our community a better place to live and work. This year honored Jack & Suzi Hanna, zookeepers who are advocates for wildlife conservation! You may have even seen Jack in his TV series ‘Into the Wild’. This event also serves as an important source of revenue for our local Red Cross Chapter throughout Ohio!

 

 

 

    2.   UNICON continues to be a GreenSpot member

UNICON has continued to pledge Green as a member of GreenSpot! We think about what we can do to reduce, reuse, or recycle; conserve and protect water and conserve energy. UNICON would like to encourage others to think about the impact of recycle, reusing and reducing, as these little things can make a big difference to the environment.

 

 

3. 5 tips for effectively working from home during the coronavirus outbreak, when you have kids

    As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, at least 69,000 schools across the U.S. have been closed or are scheduled to close, For thousands of parents who have been asked to work remotely, this means extra challenges when trying to balance the demands of work life and home life while coronavirus remains a concern. So here are 5 tips for working effectively from home!

 

 

 

   4.  Before a COVID-19 outbreak occurs in your community: Plan

   A COVID-19 outbreak could last for a long time in your community. Depending on the severity of the outbreak, public health officials may recommend community actions designed to help keep people healthy, reduce exposures to COVID-19, and slow the spread of the disease. Step one, Plan!

Congrats on being chosen for this quarter’s Associate Spotlight! Please see below for a brief Q&A with Arun to learn more about him and his time at UNICON.

Q: What degrees or certifications do you hold and from what institutions?

A: -Master of Science in Computer Science from MDS University, Udaipur

Q: What was your career path before joining UNICON?

A: I worked as .Net developer for various clients Motorola, True Value etc for a couple of years, having 18+ years of experience in software development.

Q: What role were you hired for at UNICON, and if applicable, what role have you currently transitioned into?  What are your current duties in a nutshell?

A:  I joined UNICON as Software Developer to work with ODE, since last 10+ years I am working with the same department and in same project to provide end to end support and maintain licensure application and modules which help Ohio educator getting their license online. Here I started as a UI/UX developer but now I support whole project by providing my expertise in .net, Angular and domain knowledge not only in UI but web services, database, testing documentation and training.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about yourself, your family, hobbies, community involvement, interests, etc.

A:I have a good collection of watches, love to travel to historic places, however it’s been on hold for a couple of years now, so I diverted myself into new tech gadgets, home projects etc. I am a father of 3 beautiful daughters and most of the time I am subjected to held wrong due to minority 🙂 but I love that.

 

Q: What is one thing people may be surprised to know/learn about you?

A: I am a technology geek, love new tech gadgets and supported a lot of dream projects on Kickstarter community. I have been part of this community for around 9 years now and help funded around 300 project alone on Kickstarter which is one of the crowd funding platform.
